TAV-in-TAV for Failing TAVI: Navigating Small Aortic Anatomy & Coronary Risk

In this interesting chapter we see how TAV-in-TAV can be utilised to effectively treat the accelerated degeneration of a self-expanding, super annular index TAVI prosthesis in a young patient with significant medical comorbidities. Challenges overcome in this case include small sinotubular junction and aortic anatomies, with appropriate mitigations taken to safely manage the risk of acute coronary occlusion during TAV-in-TAV procedures.
